The work is coordinated through RECEDES\u2014the Research Centre for Design Science\u2014which supports knowledge creation across the college\u2019s disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>The emphasis is on questions that matter in real life: how people live, move, work, learn, make, communicate and participate, and how design and technology can respond more effectively.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"explainer-reading__section\">\n<h3>Clusters, living labs and observation<\/h3>\n<p>RECEDES brings interdisciplinary research through clusters, living labs and the KENCID Design Observatory. These environments create room to observe real situations, identify patterns, test ideas, prototype responses and learn from evidence.<\/p>\n<p>They also help connect learner projects, academic work, industry insight and community knowledge so that research is informed by the contexts it seeks to improve.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"explainer-reading__section\">\n<h3>From inquiry to useful output<\/h3>\n<p>Research can lead to reports, publications, design guidance, prototypes, student projects, professional services and innovation opportunities.
